PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS by JULIUS IGE [POEM]

I’ve seen people with their thoughts
Those who respect me and my smallness
Mingled in midst of women who have seen troubles and fought
Beauty in exception and in flawlessness.

I chase money and at the same time fame
Combining these races ends in confusion
Most times, they make me sad and my feet lame
Other nights leave my helpless mind resting on the cushion .

I seek love and also peace
Tired of fake feelings with false lips
Seek joy in flowing streams that don’t cease
Search for that rib that could make kids .

I seek a woman and I pursue a girl
A manager of life and healer of wounds

A girl that is not frail
One comforter that keep me close as the spoon .

Though I search love, I still pursue happiness
My race on earth without capture is incomplete
Searching for love in its awesomeness
A lonely heart that needs me to be complete.
